living vicariously through Burnout
September 16th, 2005 1:15 pm
Kevin brought me a copy of Burnout: Revenge this week so I had something to do while I was laid up at home. I was pleasantly surprised that Burnout 3 turned out as awesome as it was, since I am generally uninterested in racing games. Burnout: Revenge is even better than its predecessor. Crash and road rage, my favorite modes, have returned, along with the grand prix, burning lap, and the other standard race-type modes. They've also added traffic races, which I love. They're similar to crash mode since you have to rack up a certain amount of monetary damage, but instead of causing pile-ups you actually go tearing around through traffic hitting people. Crash mode also has some minor changes. They took out the multipliers, instead giving you multiple crashbreakers if you cause enough cars to crash. You also get extra bonuses for making cars explode. I usually make Dane do the race stages, and I handle the ones that deal with destruction.
