bag lottery
September 21st, 2005 9:47 am
I've never been much of a purse kinda girl, but I can't just shove my wallet in my back pocket like I used to. Over the years I've run across a few things that I always like to have with me, and a bag of some kind just makes more sense. The problem is that I find most purses uncomfortable and unwieldy. I would prefer a bag that is large enough to hold all my stuff and has a comfortable strap that I can sling across my chest (thereby eliminating the problem where one shoulder always hurts and the bag always getting in my way). Messenger bags are too bulky for me, so I was looking for a smaller bag in a similar style. I found the perfect bag on the Yak Pak site. I also ordered the mystery bag special so I could get free shipping. This is the neatest deal, because they just grab three bags from their discontinued styles or colors, and three bags for $10 is a good deal anywhere. Since there are no guarantees on sizes or color I didn't expect much, but I had the best luck. I got another commuter-type bag that is almost better than the first bag I ordered. It has a billion little pockets for all my OCD organizational needs. The only downside is there's no zipper on the main pocket, just a little magnetic snap thingie, which is maybe not the best security. I also got a blue corduroy Wrangler backpack (full size!) and a plaid Wrangler shoulder bag with flap and fuzzy lining inside (perfect for my knitting). I win at the bag lottery.
